Matt Rivers
Matt joined the GRP Financial team in February of 2020 after spending over 3 years as the Senior Vice President of Business Consulting at GRP Advisor Alliance in Carlsbad, CA. In his current capacity as Senior Vice President of Business Operations with the San Rafael, CA-based firm, Matt is responsible for the organization and oversight of operations for the Business Development division. He has more than 13 years of industry experience in many facets of the retirement plan space, including working directly with and on behalf of financial advisors, broker-dealers, registered investment advisors, product providers, recordkeepers, and third-party administrators.
Prior to his time with GRP, Matt worked as the Regional Sales Director of Retirement Plan Services in Southern California with Lincoln Financial, covering San Diego County and Palm Desert. He has also spent time as the Vice President of Operations with Ingham Financial Group in Miami, FL, the Vice President of Retirement Consulting within the Retirement Partners division at San Diego, CA-based LPL Financial, and began his career as a Business Consultant with National Retirement Partners (NRP).
Originally hailing from Fulton, NY, Matt earned his Bachelor of Science in e-Commerce and Business & Technology Management (double major) with a minor in Economics from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY. He currently holds his FINRA Series 7 securities registration through LPL Financial, Series 65 registration through Global Retirement Partners, in addition to his California Accident & Health Agent, Life-Only Agent, and Variable Contracts Agent Insurance License (0K67589). He is also an Accredited Investment Fiduciary® through Fi360, a Certified 401(k) Professional® through The Retirement Advisor University, a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA) through the National Association of Plan Advisors, and a Professional Plan Consultant™ through Financial Service Standards.
